java - Cannot be dereferenced -

the following code:

age.equals( otherperson.age );

produces compile error like:

cannot dereferenced.

how fix this?

it's hard tell minimalistic question, i'll guess age primitive , therefore doesn't have methods.

try using age == otherperson.age instead.
