api - Coarse-grained vs fine-grained -

what difference between coarse-grained , fine-grained?

i have searched these terms on google, couldn't find mean.

from wikipedia (granularity):

granularity extent system broken down small parts, either system or description or observation. extent larger entity subdivided. example, yard broken inches has finer granularity yard broken feet.

coarse-grained systems consist of fewer, larger components fine-grained systems; coarse-grained description of system regards large subcomponents while fine-grained description regards smaller components of larger ones composed.
