programming languages - Anybody know how to get ahold of SAM76 source code for Linux? -

resistors.org site , foxthompson.net download links stale/broken.

http://www.resistors.org/index.php/the_sam76_programming_language

every other link i've been able track down on 'net (mostly in old newsgroup posts) broken. e-mails respective webmasters bounced.

i have morbid curiosity arcane programming languages, , sam76 sounded interesting , mess around with.

there quite few lisp folks lurking on site, figured might have lead... heard sam76 had redimentary functional programming ideas.

extra credit: link track down copy of sam76 manual!

wayback has copy of s76.exe dos , windows

i believe r.e.s.i.s.t.o.r.s (have no idea letters mean) group of kids played computers , electronics in claude kagan's barn in pennington, n.j. near princeton. because developer of trac, calvin mooers, spent rest of life inventing software patent , sued in sight, claude (whose employer, western electric laboratories sued mooers) created similar language called "sam76" supposedly based on s7 , m6 "languages bell labs". have original tutorial manual written , illustrated r.e.s.... , versions on paper tape altair , trs-80 floppy disk. think looked more @os@is;; change special characters , command names made trac. claude wrote neat graphic games

for trs-80 in sam76/trac.

yes, resistors did indeed meet in claude's barn filled old telephone , computer equipment. claude's version of trac started on pdp-8, migrated pdp-10, , legal reasons mentioned ended sam-76. (fyi, sam stands either "strachey , mcilroy" or "same mooers". resistors stood "radically emphatic students interested in science, technology, , other research studies" as stood anything.

starting when members of resistors, peter eichenberger , wrote pdp-10 trac processor , later reimplemented pdp-11, adding little multi-terminal time-sharing monitor. kept lower profile western electric (either that, or 19 year olds had no noticable assets) , mooers stayed on cordial terms.
